I think this BBC show has the most effective police team of any horror movie, book, or radio program I've ever experienced.
They turned out a whole team of highly effective undercover cops based on a fanciful story by one officer and a large monk.

I know they didn't exactly get their plan to work out, but still that was a huge police undertaking based on no evidence or even a believable threat.

The hard part for the police is to determine whether the guy in the Snuggie is a monk or a druid. Monks they take seriously... druids, they beat a little.
